Base plates expire on June 30th each year. You cannot leave Illinois with a base plate.

IL IRP POWER PLATES

IL IRP Plates expire on March 31st each year. IRP plates generally cost less than a base plate, but not always. The price fluctuates based on the states selected to operate in. Many states drop their plate rates quarterly. Some states drop their rates monthly. For this reason, power plates get a little cheaper every month, and the price drops drastically each quarter.
